Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc. is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital-based newborn hearing screenings and educate families on the importance of early intervention. On-the-job training and annual certification by the American Academy of Audiology are provided.

The role requires careful data collection, adherence to safety protocols, and efficient screen practices across hospital locations, with weekend/holiday availability expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR Certification or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient readiness before screening to ensure reliable results.
• Collect data/demographics for each baby and perform the hearing screen for all eligible infants per shift.
• Provide education to parents on the importance of screening and early intervention.
• Upload screen results and billing/state reporting by end of each shift; reconcile statistics.
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed and referred babies and arrange outpatient appointments when needed.
• Perform screens efficiently without compromising quality or patient education/satisfaction.
• Follow all policies, PPE, vaccinations, orientations, and compliance modules.
