Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital-based newborn hearing screens on-site. This entry-level role includes on-the-job training and an annual American Academy of Audiology certification to ensure high-quality screenings and timely intervention.

You will collect data, educate families, and coordinate with hospital staff to schedule follow-up appointments, while adhering to safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Current CPR certification or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required.
• One to three months of previous experience with newborns and in a medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hearing screens and provide education to parents about the relevance of screening and early intervention.
• Evaluate patient readiness for screening (fed, quiet, not moving).
• Collect data/demographics and document screen results per protocol.
• Notify supervisor of missed/final refer babies and coordinate follow-up as needed.
• Schedule outpatient appointments for refer babies when appropriate.
• Maintain PPE and safety compliance and adhere to hospital policies.
