Scholastic Book Fairs are in-person experiences that empower kids to discover books for themselves. Taking place in schools and rooted in Scholastic’s mission to use the power of books for the betterment of all kids, Fairs bring communities together.

We conduct over 110,000 pop-up shops annually, raising over $200 million for schools. We are committed to inspiring kids toward greatness and ensuring everyone involved feels seen, respected, and welcome.

We are seeking New Business Sales Representatives to help secure new opportunities and grow the Book Fair business. These full-time positions offer benefits including medical, dental, vision, Paid Time Off, discounts, 401k with match, and potential summers off. In addition to the base salary, there are seasonal and annual incentives.

Job Overview: If you are passionate about education, reading, and creating impactful experiences for schools, join us as a New Business Sales Representative. Your role involves prospecting and building relationships with schools to expand Scholastic Book Fairs, fostering a love for reading, and supporting fundraising efforts.

Primary Objectives:

  • Prospecting: Identify potential school and district partners, initiate outreach via calls, emails, and social media to decision-makers.
  • Lead Qualifications: Qualify prospects, understand their needs, and pass qualified leads to Account Managers.
  • Relationship Building: Establish rapport with educators, emphasizing the value of Scholastic Reading Events.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain records in CRM, track progress toward goals.
  • Collaboration and Strategy: Work with the sales team to refine outreach strategies, stay informed on industry trends.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Book events, identify opportunities through grants and corporate channels, and coordinate activities with partners.
  • Maintain accurate sales records and prioritize tasks to meet goals.
  • Support customer satisfaction through effective sales and service execution.

Customer Focus:

  • Develop relationships, understand customer needs, and provide value.
  • Build rapport, seek feedback, and recover from service issues.

Teamwork:

  • Partner with operations, foster collaboration, and contribute to team goals.

Functional Expertise/Personal Effectiveness:

  • Support our mission, implement new technologies, adapt to change, and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing, or related fields.
  • At least three years of successful sales experience, with leadership qualities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software; familiarity with children’s literature and school activities preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and marketing skills.

Additional Details: Full-time, seasonal, based in Florida, with a salary range of $65,000-$160,000. Scholastic is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
