Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD, seeks a Nurse Supervisor to lead the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Neuro specialty area during 12 Hour Day shifts. You will coordinate patient care, staffing, and daily workflow to ensure high-quality, safe care delivery while fostering staff engagement and service excellence.

The role requires a BSN, Maryland RN licensure, BLS, and 3+ years of acute care experience, with MSN and PCCN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN required.
• Current RN licensure in Maryland (or Compact State).
• BLS certification; additional life support certifications as required by unit.
• Minimum of three (3) years of acute care RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Shift: Full-time 36-hour Day
• Provides clinical and operational leadership for the PCU/Neuro unit during assigned shift
• Coordinates patient care delivery, staffing assignments, and daily workflow based on patient acuity and census
• Supervises nursing and support staff, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and evidence-based practices
• Makes cost-effective decisions related to staffing, supplies, and resource utilization
• Ensures compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational requirements
• Participates in the development and implementation of patient care standards and clinical workflows
• Supports quality improvement, patient safety, and performance initiatives
• Facilitates staff orientation, onboarding, and ongoing professional development
• Conducts performance evaluations and provides coaching, mentoring, and corrective action as needed
• Promotes a culture of service excellence and patient-centered care
• Serves as a clinical resource and professional role model for PCU/Neuro staff
