Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Acute/Cardiac unit. The role is 24 hours weekly with a 12-hour day shift and rotating shifts in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The RN will provide bedside care, administer medications, document care, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered outcomes. Comprehensive benefits apply from day one.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred. If BSN/MSN not on hire, an agreement to obtain within a set time frame.
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting, preferably cardiac.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered care.
• Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate for patients.
• Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
• Administer medications and monitor efficacy and side effects.
• Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition.
• Design, implement and evaluate nursing care plans with the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families throughout stay and discharge preparation.
