Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD, seeks a Nurse Supervisor to lead the PCU/Neuro unit. The role combines clinical leadership with operational oversight to ensure safe, quality patient care across shifts.

You will coordinate staffing, mentor staff, and drive evidence-based practices while aligning with Trinity Health’s mission. Requires BSN, MD licensure, BLS, and 3+ years acute care RN experience; MSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN required.
• Current RN licensure in Maryland or Compact State.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association); additional life support certifications as required by unit.
• Minimum of three (3) years of acute care RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical and operational leadership for the PCU/Neuro unit during assigned shift.
• Coordinates patient care delivery, staffing assignments, and daily workflow based on patient acuity and census.
• Supervises nursing and support staff, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and evidence-based practices.
• Makes cost-effective decisions related to staffing, supplies, and resource utilization.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational requirements.
• Participates in the development and implementation of patient care standards and clinical workflows.
• Supports quality improvement, patient safety, and performance initiatives.
• Facilitates staff orientation, onboarding, and ongoing professional development.
• Conducts performance evaluations and provides coaching, mentoring, and corrective action as needed.
• Promotes a culture of service excellence and patient-centered care.
• Serves as a clinical resource and professional role model for PCU/Neuro staff.
