Job summary

Serco is seeking Shipyard Laborers to support a high-profile Navy project in the Norfolk, VA and Newport News, VA area. You will join a team delivering high-technology work onboard U.S. Naval Ships and installations, handling loading, unloading, and electrical tasks as needed.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, and willingness to travel up to 10% to shipyards. Second shift and overtime are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.
• Willing to travel up to 10% to different shipyards.
• Able to work second shift and overtime (>40 hours).

Responsibilities

• Perform general manual labor including loading, unloading, lifting and moving supplies and materials.
• Perform duties as fire watch and welder's helper as well as install electric cable when needed.
• Work under immediate supervision.
• Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.
