Job summary

Serco is seeking Shipyard Laborers to support a high-profile Navy project in the Norfolk and Newport News area. You will join a dynamic team handling high-technology work aboard U.S. Naval ships and installations.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, the ability to obtain a Secret clearance, shipyard access, and willingness to work the second shift with overtime. Travel to Norfolk/Chesapeake shipyards is possible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Ability to access shipyards (NAVSTA & DBIDS) and pass background/drug screening.
• Willingness to work second shift and overtime (>40 hours).
• Travel up to 10% to different shipyards in Norfolk/Chesapeake.

Responsibilities

• Perform general manual labor: loading/unloading, lifting and moving materials.
• Serve as a fire watch and welding helper; install electrical cable when needed.
• Work under immediate supervision with limited independent judgment.
