Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Manager to lead on-site execution and overall management of assigned construction projects. The role requires full-time travel to project locations across the country, ensuring profitability, quality, and safety while meeting owner expectations.

You will coordinate estimating, procurement, scheduling, and subcontractor management, develop PMP, and lead pre-award and pre-construction meetings to deliver predictable outcomes for clients.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 5+ years of experience on ground-up commercial projects, especially light industrial or cold storage.
• Understanding of estimating concepts to verify bids and process change orders.
• Familiarity with contracting language and laws to protect the company while delivering quality service.
• Understanding building codes and plans/specifications.
• Effective teamwork and delegation to achieve goals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Champions The Layton Way by delivering predictable outcomes for internal and external teams.
• Ensures integrity, safety, and quality in all work.
• Collaborates with Superintendent to ensure project delivery and client relations.
• Assists in preparation of estimates and project budgets.
• Leads the project team in creating the PMP and conducts pre-award/pre-construction meetings.
• Negotiates change orders and manages cost/profit impact.
• Develops monthly client pay requests and tracks collections.
• Manages final closeout procedures including as-builts and completion letters.
• Provides cost information to estimating database and maintains client relationships.
