Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking a US Distribution Engineering Manager to lead and coordinate its Distribution Line engineering practice across the United States.

This high-visibility role reports to the Power Delivery Operations Manager and requires shaping strategy, elevating technical delivery, and building a coast-to-coast practice aligned with client value. You will guide national teams, balance workload, and drive growth while leveraging expertise in grid modernization, DER

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or related engineering discipline from an accredited university.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in at least one U.S. state is required, with ability to obtain additional registrations when needed.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience in Distribution line engineering or engineering management.
• Experience leading multiple teams, offices, or geographically distributed groups.
• Experience with business development, client engagement, and proposals is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the U.S. Distribution practice as a single integrated national team with collaboration across regions and offices.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance oversight to Distribution line engineering managers and teams.
• Develop and execute the strategic vision, growth plan, and operational objectives for the U.S. Distribution line practice.
• Drive utilization, workforce planning, and resource management across the organization.
• Mentor team members and provide technical guidance where needed.
• Track progress and report on performance indicators and resource needs in leadership and project meetings.
• Balance workload with Operations, Sector Leadership, and Project Managers for profitable delivery.
• Ensure staffing and execution meet Stantec quality, safety, and technical standards.
• Lead complex, high-profile Distribution programs and pursuits.
• Support recruitment, retention, and professional development of Distribution staff.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Identify capability gaps and strengthen technical leadership across the practice.
• Support projects from initiation through engineering, construction, and closeout.
• Collaborate with other units and global centers to improve delivery efficiency.
• Build and maintain relationships with utility clients, developers, and EPCs.
• Present at client meetings, conferences, and professional organizations as a Stantec leader.
