Job summary

Stantec is seeking a US Distribution Engineering Manager to lead and coordinate its Distribution Line engineering practice across the United States. You will shape the strategic direction, align resources, and drive high-quality delivery for major distribution programs.

Reporting to the Power Delivery Operations Manager, you will oversee national teams, develop supply and staffing plans, and engage clients to grow the practice while maintaining safety, quality, and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in at least one U.S. state.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience in Distribution line engineering, project delivery, technical leadership, or engineering management.
• Demonstrated experience leading multiple teams, offices, managers, or a geographically distributed engineering practice.
• Experience in an engineering consulting environment and in business development, capture planning, proposals and client relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the U.S. Distribution practice as a single integrated national team with regional collaboration.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance oversight to distribution line engineering managers and teams.
• Develop and execute the strategic vision, growth plan, and operational objectives for the U.S. Distribution line practice.
• Drive utilization, workforce planning, and resource management across the organization.
• Mentor team members and provide technical guidance where needed.
• Track progress and report KPIs and resource needs in leadership and project meetings.
• Collaborate with Operations, Sector Leaders, and Project Managers to balance workload and ensure profitable delivery.
• Ensure projects meet Stantec quality, safety, and technical standards.
