Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a National Catastrophe Property - Personal Lines Field Claims Specialist to respond to major disaster events nationwide. This field-based role involves up to 80% travel, conducting on-site inspections, assessing damage, and guiding policyholders through the claims process with empathy and clarity.

You will handle moderate to severe property claims, leverage Xactimate for estimates, and coordinate with Special Investigations Unit and Subrogation as needed.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of related property claims experience or comparable job-related experience, or education preferred.
• Experience in a customer service environment, including flexible work schedules and extended work hours preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance theory and practices, and property estimating and automated claims systems.
• Ability to manage on-site inspections, determine coverages, and provide guidance to customers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site property inspections and damage assessments in catastrophe zones.
• Investigate and resolve moderate to complex property claims from start to finish.
• Determine policy coverage and prepare estimates using Xactimate.
• Own the full lifecycle of claims, including reserving, supplements, and documentation.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and internal standards and ensure timely resolutions.
• Provide proactive, consistent updates to customers throughout the claims process.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to Nationwide customers and partners.
