Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Field Claims Specialist II for the National Catastrophe (NATCAT) team. You will assess severe property losses across the country, work in high-pressure environments, and guide customers through complex claims with empathy and precision.

This role requires on-site inspections, CAT experience, and expertise in Xactimate, with the ability to deploy for extended periods and travel up to 80%.

Qualifications

• Prior insurance field/property claims handling or adjusting experience.
• Proficiency with Xactimate and prior estimate writing experience.
• Experience working on-site in catastrophe environments.
• Strong customer service orientation in high-stress situations.
• Independent in the field with extended deployments and long hours.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site property inspections and damage assessments in catastrophe zones.
• Investigate and resolve moderate to complex property claims from start to finish.
• Determine policy coverage and prepare estimates using Xactimate.
• Own the full lifecycle of claims, including reserving, supplements, and documentation.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and internal standards and timely resolutions.
