Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a National Catastrophe Property - Personal Lines Field Claims Specialist to support NATCAT operations nationwide. You will handle on-site inspections, assess damage, and manage complex claims from start to finish while traveling up to 80% in catastrophe zones.

Deliver empathetic guidance and timely resolutions to policyholders during disasters. You will work with internal teams, determine coverage, prepare estimates with Xactimate, and manage reserves and documentation.

Qualifications

• Education: Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
• Three to five years of related property claims experience preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance theory, claims processes, and Xactimate is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently in field CAT environments and manage complex claims.

Responsibilities

• Handle all assigned claims promptly with minimal direction.
• Determine coverages and apply claims practices per guidelines.
• Open/close/adjust reserves to ensure adequacy.
• Maintain knowledge of guidelines, product changes, and local procedures.
• Inspect rooftops safely and coordinate with repair professionals.
• Provide clear, proactive updates to customers throughout the process.
