Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Field Claims Specialist II to join the NATCAT team. The role involves travel up to 80% nationwide, performing on-site inspections, damage assessments, and guiding policyholders through the claims process with empathy and professionalism.

You will manage the full lifecycle of property claims—from start to finish—while determining coverages, preparing estimates with Xactimate, and ensuring regulatory compliance and superior customer service in demanding disaster scenarios.

Qualifications

• Prior insurance field/property claims handling or adjusting experience.
• Proficiency with Xactimate and prior estimate writing experience.
• Experience in catastrophe environments and on-site work.
• Strong customer service orientation in high-stress situations.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% and extended deployments (up to 21 days).

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site property inspections and damage assessments in catastrophe zones.
• Investigate and resolve moderate to complex property claims from start to finish.
• Determine policy coverage and prepare estimates using Xactimate.
• Own the full lifecycle of claims, including reserving, supplements, and documentation.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
• Provide proactive updates to customers throughout the claims process.
