Job summary

The Johnson Museum of Art in Ithaca, NY is seeking a part-time Temporary Visitor Services Associate to support customer service and operations. This on-site, 3-month assignment offers up to 19 hours per week at $23.00–$23.50/hour, with no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities include greeting visitors, answering calls, logging activities, and supporting opening/closing procedures. Flexibility to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, reliable, encouraging, and team minded.
• Strong customer service and relational skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, provide information, answer a multi-line telephone, log activities, distribute keys and access cards, and maintain daily museum parking and maintenance logs.
• Monitor the lobby and surroundings, assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Support the Museum’s development department and event scheduling using 25Live.
• Work a flexible schedule (weekdays, evenings, and/or weekends).
• Alternate between sitting and standing for extended periods and use staircases repeatedly.
