Job summary

SMC is seeking a Service Technician to join our maintenance team in Annandale, VA. The role covers diagnosing problems and performing repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, masonry and appliances to meet company standards and legal requirements.

You will document service requests, maintain inventory, perform preventive maintenance, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure reliable community assets.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in maintenance related field(s).
• Successful completion of Basic Electric class offered at SMC internal training facility.
• Successful completion of all other basic maintenance classes offered internally and all on-the-job training within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Address, follow up and document service requests.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall and related systems.
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.
• Make repairs to grounds and drainage and other duties as assigned by manager.
