Job summary

Birge & Held in Columbus, OH is seeking a Service Technician I to support daily maintenance across our two multifamily communities. You will perform routine HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general repairs, respond to work orders within 48 hours, and help ensure resident satisfaction and asset integrity.

The role reports to the Operations Manager and requires OSHA awareness, tool proficiency, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• HVAC certification preferred.
• EPA refrigerant handling certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Driver’s license and reliable transportation required for travel between properties.
• OSHA and environmental safety standards knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings and common areas for cleanliness, safety and condition.
• Perform basic HVAC, electrical, plumbing and related repairs.
• Complete work orders within 48 hours; assist with unit turnovers within 5 working days.
• Provide daily progress updates to the operations team and coordinate tasks.
