Job summary

Birge & Held in Lexington, KY is seeking a Service Technician II to maintain the community’s assets, ensure systems function, and deliver a high-quality resident experience. You will report to the Operations Manager.

The role requires at least two years in apartment maintenance, EPA refrigerant certification, and ownership of basic hand tools. It is a full-time, non-exempt position with competitive benefits and a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Two years in apartment maintenance, construction, or related field.
• EPA refrigerant handling certification or willingness to obtain.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for property travel.
• Provide own hand tools including power drills and impacts.
• Residential property maintenance experience beneficial.
• OSHA and safety standards knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Conduct work following company policies, Fair Housing, ADA, FCRA and applicable laws.
• Inspect buildings and common areas for cleanliness, safety, and visual appeal.
• Perform repairs on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and grounds.
• Complete work orders promptly and provide progress updates.
• Maintain grounds and assist other assets to meet company goals.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
