Job summary

Birge & Held in Dublin, OH is seeking a Service Technician II to maintain and repair community assets. You will work under the Operations Manager, addressing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and grounds issues to ensure safe, clean living spaces for residents.

Two years of apartment maintenance experience are required; EPA refrigerant handling certification is required or obtainment will be arranged. A valid driver’s license is needed if travel between properties is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated success in apartment maintenance, construction, or a related field.
• EPA certification for refrigerant handling is required or obtained upon hire.
• HVAC certification is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation if travel between properties is required.
• Own hand tools including power drills, impacts, and non-powered hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance, functionality, and appearance of community assets in alignment with policies and laws.
• Inspect buildings and common areas for cleanliness, safety, and visual appeal.
• Perform repairs on HVAC, mechanical and electrical equipment, plumbing, and grounds.
• Repair serviceable items across Birge & Held communities.
• Ensure unit turnovers within five working days unless directed otherwise by the Operations Manager.
• Complete work orders promptly and provide daily progress updates.
• Complete unit turns within seven working days when not emergencies.
• Maintain grounds and assist other assets to drive company goals.
• Complete and submit required forms, reports, and documentation accurately and timely.
• Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours emergencies.
