Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Oak Creek, WI, to ensure accurate, timely payroll for a large multi-state population. This role manages end-to-end payroll activities using IFS and ADP, maintains payroll-related records and reconciliations, and supports audits for employees and HR.

The position requires strong attention to detail, advanced Excel skills, and a solid understanding of payroll regulations and accounting principles. This is a contract to hire, onsite role.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in corporate payroll for 1,200+ employees.
• Experience with ADP and IFS timekeeping and payroll tools.
• Solid knowledge of federal/state/local tax laws and wage-hour rules.

Responsibilities

• Review time data for accuracy and communicate corrections.
• Transfer time data from IFS to ADP for payroll processing.
• Process ADP payroll accurately and on schedule for multi-state base.
• Maintain payroll filing and audit-ready documentation.
• Reconciling payroll cash with ADP Tax Services reports.
• Respond to employees’ payroll inquiries promptly.
• Maintain weekly payroll data reconciliations in spreadsheets.
• Process manual checks for discrepancies and special payrolls.
• Compute new hire/termination pay and other adjustments.
• Reconcile payroll to 941 filings and W-2 forms.
• Maintain general ledger for payroll transactions.
• Prepare adjusting entries and payroll journal entries.
• Submit annual workers’ comp reports timely.
• Assist audits with documentation and explanations.
• Stay current on payroll legislation and process improvements.
