Connect Search is hiring a Payroll Specialist in Oak Creek. this position offers a hybrid work from home schedule of 2 days per week.

The role involves reviewing time reporting, transferring data to ADP, and processing payroll accurately and on time. You will reconcile payroll with taxes, respond to employee inquiries, and stay updated on payroll legislation.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of experience in a payroll function with a corporation with a payroll size greater than 1,200 employees, including multi-state payroll.

Responsibilities

• Review IFS time reporting corrections with supervisors.
• Transfer system time reporting information into ADP.
• Process ADP-generated payroll accurately and on time.
• Maintain files of ADP tax-filing and payroll summary reports.
• Reconcile payroll data to payroll and ADP Tax Services reports.
• Answer employees' inquiries about paycheck information.
• Maintain spreadsheets that track and reconcile weekly payroll data.
• Process manual checks to correct discrepancies and special payrolls, including annual bonuses.
• Calculate new hire pay, termination pay, and any other required adjustments to regular pay.
• Reconcile payroll reports to 941s and W-2s.
• Maintain the general ledger with regard to payroll transactions.
• Reconcile the payroll register to the general ledger and create necessary adjusting journal entries.
• Prepare and submit annual workers' compensation report to insurance carriers.
• Prepare journal entries and account analyses as assigned.
• Process stop payments or payroll adjustments.
• Calculate and deduct appropriate amounts from payroll checks, including tax withholdings and other garnishments.
• Verify all overtime hours with the appropriate management personnel before issuing payroll checks.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related duties as needed.
• Provide documents as requested by Human Resources.
• Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and recommend process improvements.
• Assist with internal and external payroll audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
