Job summary

Addison Group seeks an experienced Sr. Payroll Specialist to oversee end-to-end payroll for a large workforce in a temporarily contracted role. You will manage biweekly processing, ensure multi-state compliance, and resolve payroll discrepancies with minimal oversight.

The position emphasizes confidentiality, accuracy, and collaboration with HR and Finance. Training will be provided, with potential for remote work after onboarding.

Qualifications

• Experience managing high-volume payroll independently.
• Experience supporting multi-state payroll (IL, CA, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll tax requirements.
• FLSA wage and hour regulations knowledge.
• Experience processing exempt and non-exempt employees.
• Hands-on ADP Workforce Now experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage biweekly payroll processing for salaried and hourly staff.
• Support payroll across multiple states and tax jurisdictions.
• Review payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies before processing.
• Respond to employee pay questions and deductions.
• Calculate and reconcile payroll taxes and compensation transactions.
• Administer deductions for retirement plans, loans, garnishments.
• Coordinate payroll files with external vendors and third-party administrators.
• Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws and regulations.
• Assist with payroll audits and related procedures.
• Maintain payroll procedures and internal controls.
• Utilize ADP to process payroll and generate reports.
• Prepare recurring payroll expense reports and ad hoc analyses.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance to maintain accurate records.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.
