Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Michigan is seeking a dependable equipment operator to safely operate forklift, bobcat, backhoe, and other heavy machinery to bale, load, and move waste material at our site.

You will perform daily inspections, lubrication, and fluid checks, and coordinate with team via two-way radio. The role requires adherence to safety rules and regulations, and willingness to work outdoors in variable weather.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
Forklift certification completed.
Ability to obtain Transfer Station / Landfill Operations Certification if needed.
Experience operating heavy equipment listed in responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Operate equipment to bale and load waste material into trailers.
Perform daily inspection and maintenance checks of equipment.
Grease and lubricate equipment, check and add fluids daily.
Communicate with colleagues via two-way radio about work activities and priorities.
Follow all laws, regulations, and company policies; maintain a safe work environment.
Maintain appearance of grounds and facility; attend safety meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
