Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a hands-on equipment operator to bale and load waste, inspect and maintain machinery, and perform routine servicing at the site.

You will operate heavy equipment, grease and check fluids daily, and communicate priorities with the team via two-way radio. Required are a high school diploma or GED (desirable but not required), forklift certification, and the ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification if needed.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification.
• Ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification if needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to bale and load waste or other material into trailers.
• Perform inspection and maintenance checks of equipment daily.
• Grease/lubricate equipment, check and add fluids daily.
• Steer, guide and drive the listed equipment at the assigned site.
• Substitute for another operator as needed.
• Clean trash from tracks of heavy equipment daily or more.
• Communicate with co-workers via two-way radio about work activities, requirements and priorities.
• Comply with all laws, regulations and company policies.
• Maintain grounds and facility appearance.
• Attend safety and branch meetings.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
