Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a dedicated equipment operator to bale and load waste material, perform daily equipment checks, and ensure safe operation at the site. The role requires operating multiple heavy machines and adapting to daily priorities in a dynamic waste-management setting.

You will participate in safety trainings, maintain equipment, and contribute to a clean, compliant work environment. Excellent attendance and teamwork are essential for this on-site position in Kentucky.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is desired but not required.
• Completion of forklift certification.
• Ability to obtain Transfer Station / Landfill Operations Certification if needed.
• Operate various heavy equipment safely and according to procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to bale and load waste material into trailers.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance on equipment.
• Grease, lubricate, and check fluids in equipment daily.
• Steer and operate equipment at the assigned site.
• Substitute for other operators as needed.
• Maintain grounds and facility appearance.
• Attend safety and branch meetings.
• Perform other duties as required by management.
