Job summary

Anduril Industries seeks a senior mechanical sustainment engineer to lead a team evaluating nonconforming hardware on Group 5 air vehicles and weapon platforms. You will mentor engineers, set MRB standards, and ensure timely dispositions while partnering across Manufacturing, Quality, Design, and Supply Chain.

You will drive RCCA initiatives, maintain technical rigor, and travel to sites to troubleshoot hardware and support builds. Active U.S. security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or equivalent experience
• 10+ years mechanical engineering experience in production, depot, or maintenance environment
• 2+ years leading or managing engineers
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (CATIA, Siemens NX, Creo, or SolidWorks) and GD&T
• Ability to perform structural/mechanical analysis using hand calculations and FEA tools (ANSYS, NASTRAN)
• Ability to set technical standards and review others' work across a team of engineers
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills
• Self-driven with autonomy in a fast-paced environment
• Eligible to obtain/maintain active U.S. Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of mechanical sustainment engineers responsible for evaluating nonconforming hardware and dispositions
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineers with MRB signature/delegated authority pathway
• Set technical standards and review high-risk dispositions on mechanical subsystems and interfaces
• Own team workload and prioritize to keep production flowing
• Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Design Engineering, and Supply Chain leadership to resolve blockers
• Drive RCCA programs to reduce nonconformances and escapes
• Build and improve MRB processes, tools, and standard work as production rates increase
• Report on throughput, nonconformance trends, and open risk to leadership
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on MRB discipline
• Travel to vendor, production, and test sites as needed
