Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a senior leader to head a Mechanical Sustainment Engineering team focused on evaluating nonconforming hardware for fielded and in-production Group 5 air vehicles. You will hire, mentor, and set technical standards while ensuring MRB dispositions are timely to keep production flowing.

You will partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Design Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve blockers, drive RCCA programs, and travel to vendor sites as needed. Active U.S.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in production/maintenance environments.
• 2+ years leading or managing engineers, either as a people manager or senior tech leader.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools and GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Ability to perform structural/mechanical analysis using hand calcs and FEA tools.
• Ability to set technical standards and review others' work within a team.
• Excellent cross-functional communication; able to work with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and leadership.
• Self-driven with autonomy in a fast-paced environment.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of mechanical sustainment engineers assessing nonconforming hardware.
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineers, establishing MRB path for team members.
• Set technical standards and review high-risk dispositions and repairs.
• Own team workload and prioritization to keep production flowing.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Design Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve blockers.
• Drive RCCA programs to reduce nonconformances and production escapes.
• Build and improve MRB processes, tools, and standard work for mechanical hardware.
• Report throughput, nonconformance trends, and risk to leadership.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers on MRB and cross-functional coordination.
• Travel to vendor, production, and test sites as needed.
