Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Mechanical Sustenance Engineering Leader to oversee a team responsible for evaluating nonconforming hardware on Group 5 air vehicles and determining dispositions.

You will hire and mentor engineers, set technical standards, and coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Design Engineering, and Supply Chain to keep production moving while driving RCCA programs and MRB improvements. US Secret clearance eligible.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including direct experience evaluating nonconformances and dispositioning hardware in a production, depot, or maintenance environment.
• 2+ years of experience leading or managing engineers, either as a people manager or in a senior technical leadership capacity.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools and strong GD&T and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Ability to perform and review structural and mechanical analysis (stress, deflection, fatigue) using hand calculations and FEA tools (ANSYS, NASTRAN, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated ability to set technical standards and review others' work across a team of engineers.
• Excellent cross‑functional communication skills — able to represent the team to Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and senior engineering leadership.
• Self‑driven with strong autonomy and adaptability in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of mechanical sustainment engineers responsible for evaluating nonconforming mechanical hardware and determining engineering dispositions on fielded and in‑production Group 5 air vehicles
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineers on the team, including establishing a path to MRB signature/delegated authority for team members
• Set technical standards and review complex or high‑risk dispositions and repairs, acting as an escalation point for the most difficult nonconformances on mechanical subsystems, actuation, and structural‑mechanical interfaces
• Own team workload and prioritization, ensuring dispositions and repairs are generated accurately and on schedule to keep production flowing
• Travel to vendor, production, and test sites as needed to support hardware builds and troubleshoot issues directly
