Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior MRB Mechanical Engineer to support the Air Dominance and Strike MRB team on Group 5 air vehicles and missile platforms. You will evaluate nonconforming hardware, generate disposition instructions, and work across Manufacturing, Quality, Design Engineering, and Supply Chain to keep production flowing while maintaining airworthiness.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in production, depot, or maintenance environments evaluating nonconformances.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (CATIA, Siemens NX, Creo, or SolidWorks) and strong GD&T expertise.
• Ability to perform structural and mechanical analysis (stress, deflection, fatigue) using hand calculations and FEA tools (ANSYS, NASTRAN, or equivalent).
• Understanding of manufacturing methods relevant to mechanical hardware (machining, sheet metal, fasteners, actuation, 3D printing).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to produce disposition documentation under schedule pressure.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Manufacturing and Engineering for Mechanical Subsystems (propulsion, hydraulics, fuel, landing gear, systems integration).
• Evaluate nonconforming hardware on fielded and in-production vehicles and determine dispositions to restore airworthiness.
• Generate MRB dispositions, rework instructions, and repair solutions for subsystems and interfaces.
• Review CAD models, drawings, GD&T, and tolerances to assess fit and manufacturability impacts.
• Identify acceptable alternate components for obsolete parts.
• Perform structural and mechanical analysis to substantiate dispositions and repairs.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances and production escapes.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Design Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve issues and keep production flowing.
• Build prototypes and test fixtures; analyze failures and feed learnings back into design.
• Travel to vendor, production, and test sites as needed to support hardware builds.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on MRB discipline.
