Job summary

The Landline Company is seeking a Fleet Manager to lead maintenance and fleet readiness for a growing motorcoach operation. You will own the maintenance plan, budget, vendor relationships, and data systems to support scaling up to 100 coaches.

Remote role with occasional travel to station locations in the USA/Canada. Strong data skills, Fleetio/Samsara experience, and Six Sigma are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in transportation operations, logistics or related fields.
• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research or Supply Chain, or equivalent exp.
• Strong data and analytical skills; Excel required; SQL/Python/BI a plus.
• Familiarity with Fleetio and Samsara systems.
• Comfort using AI tools to move across projects quickly.
• Excellent communication with frontline hourly staff.
• Six Sigma certification (Green/Black belt) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the maintenance function with plan, vendors, and data for future scaling.
• Build rolling maintenance forecast aligned to OEM intervals.
• Maintain maintenance budget and variance reporting.
• Coordinate unscheduled maintenance without service disruption.
• Maintain service records in Fleetio and Samsara; DVIR tracking.
• Manage parts procurement and pass‑through costs with partners.
• Flag recurring issues and end-of-life vehicles using data.
• Represent Landline at external maintenance facilities and issue work orders.
• Schedule all planned and unplanned work; ensure buses on time.
• Review partner invoices and monitor technician usage vs budget.
• Plan quarterly reviews with maintenance vendors.
• Provide real‑time fleet readiness visibility to SOC and leadership.
• Own Fleetio and Samsara access and IT interfaces.
• Plan vehicle assignments and capacity risks; plan additions/retirements.
• Maintain vehicle files and registrations.
• Coordinate OEM reps, warranties and training; track TSBs and recalls.
• Advise leadership on reliability and procurement; communicate constraints.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and audit-ready records; report KPIs.
