Job summary

M&T Bank Corporation in Florham Park, NJ is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer to help customers identify and obtain FHA/VA, conventional, and other residential mortgage programs that fit their finances. Qualifications

• Associates degree and 2 years sales experience, or 4 years higher education plus 2 years sales experience.
• Thorough knowledge of FHA/VA regulations, conventional loan requirements and real estate law.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants to collect income, assets, debts and credit data to assess loan eligibility.
• Analyze financial and credit data to determine borrower risk.
• Issue pre-qualification statements of borrowers’ eligibility.
• Recommend mortgage products that fit customer needs and explain options.
• Cultivate new mortgage business and promote bank products.
• Solicit residential first mortgages through Realtors; travel as needed.
• Negotiate loan terms and bind the bank to agreements.
• Ensure compliance with origination procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor real estate market trends and advise on policy changes.
• Represent the bank in the community and deliver seminars when appropriate.
