Job summary

M&T Bank in Berwick, PA seeks an experienced Mortgage Loan Officer to identify customers for FHA/VA and conventional loans, analyzing income, assets, and credit data to determine loan eligibility. The role includes marketing mortgage products, complying with the SAFE Act, and building relationships with Realtors and builders to grow residential mortgage business.

You will interview applicants, advise on loan programs, travel as needed, and ensure regulatory compliance while negotiating terms.

Qualifications

• Associates degree with 2 years sales experience, or a combined minimum of 4 years higher education and/or relevant work experience including 2 years sales experience.
• Thorough knowledge of FHA/VA regulations, conventional loan requirements and real estate law.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants to collect and analyze income, assets, debts and credit data to assess loan eligibility.
• Assess applicant’s credit worthiness and issue pre-qualification statements.
• Determine which products best meet customer needs and advise on loan programs and terms.
• Market mortgage products and cultivate relationships with Realtors, builders and developers.
