Job summary

M&T Bank in Reading, PA, seeks a Mortgage Loan Officer to interview applicants, analyze income, assets and credit data, and determine loan eligibility for FHA/VA and conventional programs.

You will assess creditworthiness, pre-qualify borrowers, and advise on the most suitable mortgage solutions while building relationships with real estate professionals and customers in the community.

Qualifications

• Associates degree and 2 years sales experience, OR combined minimum of 4 years higher education and/or relevant work experience, including 2 years sales experience.
• Thorough knowledge of FHA/VA regulations, conventional loan requirements and real estate law.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants to collect and analyze income, assets, debts and credit data to assess loan eligibility.
• Assess credit worthiness and issue pre-qualification statements of borrowers’ eligibility.
• Determine which mortgage products meet customer needs and advise on advantages of different programs.
• Solicit mortgage business and promote bank’s mortgage products to Realtors, builders and developers.
• Ensure compliance with origination procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Represent the bank in the community, conducting seminars to promote business and outreach.
