Job summary

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh is seeking a courteous front-of-house host to welcome guests, coordinate reservations and seating, and support daily restaurant operations. You will greet guests, share local information, and help ensure a memorable dining experience.

Applicants should have hospitality experience, be able to multitask in a fast-paced setting, and be comfortable with POS and reservation systems. Weekend, night, and holiday availability is required when needed.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
• Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Able to learn, retain, and present product, menu and allergy information to guests.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn the restaurant point-of-sale system and reservation system.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and support to guests by phone or in person.
• Receive and coordinate reservations and seating for daily and nightly service.
• Greet all restaurant guests and provide local area information.
• Provide fair and consistent seating of guests.
• Accurately handle paperwork, stock and tidy the host stand.
• Receive incoming calls and book reservations for guests.
• Take room service orders if applicable.
• Check floor and tables for accuracy and cleanliness, assist in bussing tables.
• Help servers by refilling beverages when needed.
• Perform other restaurant and customer service related requests.
• Be prepared to take on responsibilities outside the job description when needed.
