Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Trailer Technician II for on-site work with a focus on certified DOT inspections and preventative maintenance. You will perform light repairs, engage in brake, air line, pump and engine work, and help with welding, fabrication and panel replacement at customer sites.

The role involves independent scheduling, documentation via TRAIT on an iOS device, and collaboration with Sr Technicians to learn advanced mechanical skills while meeting safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Prefer ASE certifications and related training.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in trailers or related field; 5+ years if no HS diploma.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Document work on repair orders using iOS TRAIT app and photos.
• Diagnose and repair trailer brakes, air lines, pumps, engines, liftgates and chambers.
• Complete DOT forms accurately and on time.
• Diagnose electrical components and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain a service truck and manage parts inventory daily.
