Job summary

Cox Fleet, headquartered in Indianapolis, provides on-site mobile maintenance for light to heavy-duty trucks and trailers across the country. The Mobile Trailer Technician II will perform certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, and related duties at customer sites.

The role requires adherence to safety policies, accurate documentation, and the ability to work independently on a mobile service truck with access to TRAIT and an iOS device.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 3+ years in trailer-related field preferred.
• Must be able to perform certified DOT inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Experience with trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps, engines, liftgates and related systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and repairs on trailers at customers' sites.
• Document work using RO, upload photos, and record findings in TRAIT.
• Diagnose electrical components and troubleshoot trailer systems.
• Maintain safety practices and manage parts inventory on a mobile service truck.
• Coordinate with management for repair estimates and approvals.
