Job summary

Western States Equipment Co. seeks a field service diesel technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment at customer sites across the territory. You will interpret performance data and perform repairs within time standards while maintaining customer relationships.

The role requires knowledge of Caterpillar machine systems, the ability to travel, and flexibility to work overtime as needed. A high school diploma or GED and valid CDL with air brake are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree or technical training preferred.
• 5 years of diagnosis and repair of heavy equipment experience required.
• Caterpillar experience preferred.
• Must have a CDL with air brake and acceptable driving record (DOT requirements).
• Ability to communicate in English (speak/read/write).

Responsibilities

• Manage customer base and territory; schedule work and generate new business.
• Perform machine diagnostics and repairs; adapt to field conditions.
• Use Caterpillar systems and company tools to troubleshoot and repair.
• Work in field locations with possible overtime/overnight commitments.
• Document service reports and status updates to customers.
