Job summary

Western States Equipment is seeking an experienced technician to diagnose and repair heavy equipment at customer sites and in our shop. You will work under supervision, perform preventative maintenance, and assist with repairs while adhering to safety policies.

Required are a high school diploma or GED, 5+ years in equipment diagnosis/repair, and a valid CDL/DOT compliance. Caterpillar experience is a plus; travel can be extensive, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; an Associate degree is preferred.
• Five-plus years in heavy equipment diagnosis and repair is expected.
• CDL with clean record and DOT compliance is required.
• English proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing is essential.
• Caterpillar experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment under supervision of senior techs.
• Assist with repairs and prevent maintenance tasks per guidelines.
• Document service work clearly using STW and SIS Web.
• Travel up to 80% and work overtime as needed.
