Job summary

Generator Supercenter, Inc. is seeking a Generator Mechanic / Service Technician to diagnose, maintain and repair whole‑home standby generators in residential settings.

This field role requires a mechanical and electrical repair background and the ability to work independently in the field. You’ll travel to job sites in a company vehicle, communicate clearly with customers, document work, and follow safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of generator service, small engine repair, or related mechanical/electrical work.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently in the field with minimal supervision.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Physically able to perform job duties, including climbing ladders, lifting equipment, and working outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Travel to residential job sites using a company-provided service vehicle.
• Perform diagnostics, routine maintenance, and repairs on whole-home standby generators.
• Troubleshoot and service mechanical and electrical components, including ATS systems.
• Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Clearly communicate with customers regarding services performed and any recommendations.
• Accurately document all work in our service management software.
• Follow safety protocols and industry best practices when working around electricity.
