Job summary

The Generator Small Engine Mechanic/AC Service Technician will work with the Service Manager to plan their visits and travel in the surrounding area. Using our company vehicle, you will service the customer's whole home standby generator at their residence and communicate clearly about work performed.

You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, read manuals and diagrams, and update the service system with results.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, electrical diagrams, and blueprints.
• Excellent problem solving and decision making abilities.
• Ability to work independently with initiative.
• Must be able to drive company vehicles safely to customer homes.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer's residence using company vehicle.
• Communicate with customers regarding arrival, work, and outcomes.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and perform maintenance on home generators.
• Follow manuals, diagrams, blueprints, and procedures.
• Test and troubleshoot automatic transfer switches.
• Document services in the electronic software system.
• Adhere to safety practices and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
