Job summary

The Generator Mechanic/Service Technician will work with the Service Manager to plan routes and schedules, using a company vehicle to visit customers’ homes for repair and preventive maintenance on whole home standby generators.

You will apply mechanical and electrical knowledge, consult technical manuals and blueprints, update the service software after visits, and follow safety practices while working outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with mechanical small engine repair is a plus.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer’s residence using company vehicle.
• Communicate arrival, work performed and issues resolved to customers.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain home standby generators.
• Follow manuals, diagrams and procedures; test and operate transfer switches.
• Document services in the electronic system and adhere to safety practices.
