Job summary

Generator Supercenter is seeking a Generator Mechanic/Service Technician to travel to customers' homes using a company vehicle and perform repair and preventive maintenance on whole home standby generators. You will diagnose issues using manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints, then update service records in our software system.

Expect a Mon-Fri 8 am–5 pm schedule with potential adjustments for weather. Candidates should have experience with mechanical small‑engine repair and electrical wiring,

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Problem-solving, organization, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently demonstrating initiative.
• Reading and comprehension skills to understand technical manuals, electrical diagrams, and blueprints.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Be physically able to perform job duties including bending, stooping, climbing ladders, pulling, grasping, and walking on uneven surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer residences using company vehicle.
• Communicate directly with customers regarding arrival, work performed, issues resolved, etc.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and perform maintenance on the customer’s home generator.
• Follow technical instruction manuals, diagrams, blueprints, and procedures.
• Test, troubleshoot, and operate automatic transfer switches.
• Document services are performed using an electronic software system
• Adhere to all safety practices and requirements.
• Along with the duties above, other duties may be assigned.
