Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 7 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Must have a current CDL and Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability are required.
• Valid driver license with insurability per company policy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Perform basic truck maintenance: fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and required inspections.
• Manage inventory on the service truck and keep vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and execute assigned duties daily.
• Be available for after-hours service and flexible work schedules.
• Maintain and inventory tools needed for diesel engine maintenance.
• Read job orders and diagnose malfunctions to plan procedures.
• Use diagnostic equipment and manuals to perform repairs.
• Diagnose, remove and replace components as needed.
• Complete diagnostic and documentation tasks on company system.
• Inspect guards, bolts, and safety devices; adjust as required.
• Lubricate parts and verify repairs meet specs.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Document work in mobile service program accurately and timely.
• Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
• Advise on repairs or services planned within 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply it on the job.
