Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking an experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to maintain fleets and perform on-site service calls at client locations. The role involves diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty trucks, managing service-truck inventory, and ensuring safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by the FMVSS.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, & ASE certifications are preferred & rewarded

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and required inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and for keeping the vehicle properly stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and perform daily assigned duties.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and open work schedule.
• Read job orders and diagnose vehicle operation to plan work procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment and technical information to perform correct repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document work in the company system.
• Inspect safety devices and adjust as needed.
• Communicate with customers and service writers about repairs to be performed.
