Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking experienced mobile diesel technicians to service fleets at customer sites, providing on-site expertise and rapid repairs for Class 7-8 trucks.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility
• High school diploma or GED required
• Current CDL preferred but not required
• Medical card as required by the FMCSA
• ASE certifications preferred & rewarded

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks and cleanliness; perform inspections as assigned.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and keep the vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and follow daily assignment cues.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and flexible schedule.
• Read job orders and diagnose vehicles to plan repairs.
• Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to perform repairs.
• Document work accurately in the company computer system.
• Inspect safety devices and lubricate moving parts to verify compliance with specs.
• Communicate with customers regarding repairs and recommended services.
