Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking Experienced Mobile Diesel Technicians to maintain fleets and handle service calls at client locations, providing on-site expertise. You will diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on trucks and equipment, with after-hours availability and strong focus on customer relations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 5 years as a Class 7 & 8 technician, and preferred CDL.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by the FMVSS.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, & ASE certifications are preferred & rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness and inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and keep vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and open work schedule.
• Read job orders and diagnose vehicle to plan procedures.
• Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to perform repairs.
• Document and submit paperwork in the mobile service program.
