Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light-to-heavy repairs in a mobile/field setting. You’ll work with trained mentors to diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues on trucks and trailers.

You will maintain safety standards, document work using iOS tools, and ensure timely completion of service orders while coordinating with customers and management.

Qualifications

• HS diploma/GED with 3 years’ related field experience or 5 years’ related field experience.
• Own set of hand tools.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
• DOT medical card or ability to obtain one.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid state driver’s license with MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Perform PMs, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems; service trailers.
• Test equipment using handheld devices, pressure gauges, and diagnostic tools.
• Road-test vehicles to verify repairs and proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory on the service truck; document RO with TRAIT app.
• Complete DOT forms and maintain safety compliance and OSHA regulations.
