Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light-to-heavy repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems, service trucks, and document work using our TRAIT app on an iOS device.

The role emphasizes safety, DOT compliance, and independent scheduling, with opportunities for ASE certifications and career growth within a nationwide fleet service provider.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience, or 5 years in a related field.
• Must supply a set of hand tools to perform duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• Must pass DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
• Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.
• 3-year MVR check required and ability to obtain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and PMs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field setting.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems.
• Inspect and repair trailer equipment and related systems.
• Document RO and parts usage via TRAIT on iOS devices.
• Maintain service truck and conduct pre/post-trip safety checks.
