Job summary

Cox Fleet is looking for a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will learn advanced mechanical skills under a Sr Mobile Diesel Technician and contribute to high performance metrics.

The role requires diagnosing equipment, managing parts on a service truck, and maintaining compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma/GED with 3–5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
• Obtain ASE certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA pre-employment screening and DOT physical may be required.
• Must be able to pass DOT medical and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and scheduled preventative maintenance on light, medium, and heavy vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems on trucks and trailers.
• Inspect, test, and document RO findings using TRAIT app on iOS devices.
• Maintain service truck and manage parts inventory and vendor coordination.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals on estimates and RO notes.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and federal regulations.
